Just like every other year, Christmas is a season of love, giving, sharing and a time ofgatherings to mark the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is believed that the seasonbrings good tidings and a moment of sharing gifts with friends and family tocommemorate this special day. This year, Angaza Tumaini Mission Centre partneredwith Kawariro Community Welfare organization to put a smile on those consideredvulnerable in the Kabiro Ward. Not all families have the privilege to enjoy Christmas withtheir families hence the reason why we mobilized for the financial resources andsupport to have this initiative to benefit the less fortunate.
We also organized a kids’ fun day as a way of engaging them during this festive season.The planned activities were fundamental to their well-being and one of the mosteffective ways in which we involved the children to learn and have fun at the same timebefore most of them travel to up country for the festive season.

Food Basket Exercise
The process kicked off with a recruitmentexercise which was carried out by the KawariroCommunity Welfare staff team with the help ofthe community Health Promoters and the localadministration. The beneficiaries weredrowned from 134 different households basedon their level of vulnerability after a rigoroushousehold assessment was conducted by theassigned individuals. In the basket we had thefollowing items, 4kg packet of flour, 2kg bakingflour, 2kg packet of sugar, 1kg of salt, a barsoap, 1 liter of cooking oil and 1kg of rice.
Food Distribution
The event took place on the 12 of December2023 at the Kabiro Youth Centre with a totalof 134 beneficiaries together with the invitedguests and both partners in attendance. Inthe event, we had a representative from theMinistry of Children and Gender, the areachief who was represented by the villageelder. The session was also culminated withvarious speeches that highlighted on thechallenges children face and role of parentsin safeguarding and protecting them againstviolence, exploitation and abuse.

Message from the Director
The director thanked the Kawariro Community Welfare and community partners for planningfor this event, and further to that, he appreciated the organization for their effort towardschanging the stories of their community members through their initiative. He also applaudedthe community members for the good turn out as well shared with them some words ofencouragement about the season and why we as Angaza Tumaini Mission Center and itsmanagement and donors are passionate about sharing Christmas with the less fortunate inour community. He also empansized on the need for community engagement andinvolvement in our programs even as we plan for an official launch.
He asked the beneficiaries to show good will and support the organization fully to realize itsvision and mission.
In cocluison, he asked the beneficiaries to continue engaging in our activities once it has beenrolled out and when that time comes, the organization will reach out to them on the same forthier involvement. He wished all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and remindedthem to celebrate modestly and in a manner that pleases God.
Message from the Programs Manager
Our program manager introduced Angaza Tumaini Mission Center to the audeince whowere present for the food basket event. He shared with them about the vision, mission,objectives and programs of the organization and the plans ahead even as we approach theofficial launch of the organization in January 2024. He also highlighted on the activities
that the organization intends to implement and the need for community support, goodwilland their involvement in our programs after the official launch. He reiterated on thespiritual and child development benefits in their children’s life hence the need for them tofully support the initiative and give consent when the organization come calling will be ofgreat importance.
The community members promised to rally behind the organization and actively engage inour activities which was quite motivating for the Angaza Tumaini Mission Center team. Inunison, they applouded and thanked the organization for this great initiative by supporting
them during this Christmas season. Everyone left with a smile carrying a food basket asthey wait for Christmas day to enjoy with their families and friends.

KID’S FUN DAY
A total of a hundred kids were involved and actively participated in a number ofactivities that were being facilitated by both the Kawariro and Angaza Tumainiteam. The games incorporated were the bouncing castle, Trampoline, egg race,sack race, face painting, bible trivia and hype and dance session. The children hadmuch fun and the winners of the various games categories received biscuits andsweets as incentives. This event created a good opportunity for the AngazaTumaini Mission Center team to interact and network with the communitymembers as a way of introducing the organization to them in preparations to theofficial launch of its programs.
However, the fun day lasted for 2 hours only due to various challenges that wereencountered ranging from poor planning, inadequate personnel and thedisorganization from the Kawariro team, making it difficult for the kids to fullyparticipate and engage. Despite these, The hype man on board did all he could toengage the children as well incorporated other games that enabled the children tohave fun at the end of the day.

- Those who received the food basket exceeded the initial number that was planned for Everyone left with a basket of food.
